He has a very cool body of work done over the years. All of it cool, original & true to who he is and what he stands for.
As well, he took his fame and loot and put it where his heart is, and set up one of the coolest Rescue Organizations out there. Detroit Dog Rescue is such a dedicated group of folks, doing what they say and making a difference in our city in the rescuing of Dogs that may otherwise become forgotten or laid to rest.

One of the 'Detroit' band family has been a great part of this band for some time now; our Brother in Rock-n-Roll, Johnny Bee, has been the timekeeper and foundation of this band's funk when giggiin out, and showing EXACTLY why he is one of the WORLD's GREATEST Drummers.

She has been a part of our Motor City Music scene for some time, and most of you know her from The Ritz, in Warren. Where, if you have been to any of the shows that were worthwhile, yea, you've seen her.....
BUT, when she is not busy gettin' us knocked back while partyin' like rock stars at the Ritz; this Woman makes her own clothes too.... Very cool stuff too, if I might add. She has been slowly & steadily building this company into a cool local name, and we hope she can take it national, international, and make her mark worldwide. We need more people like Nikita, (and Ellen as discussed above from Detroit Republic), to keep letting the world know; that we are actually about more than just fast ass cars and heavy duty rock, funk n soul!!!!

Frijid Pink was one of the originators of the hard driving Detroit Rock sound. Anchored in the blues, with the soul of motown and a hard driving beat with the heavy guitar sound.
Influential to many local and national acts that followed.
The group achieved multi-platinum status in the '70's and shared the stages worldwide with the likes of Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band, The MC5, Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent, The Guess Who, Savoy Brown (later to become Foghat), Grand Funk Railroad, Steppenwolf, Kiss and Led Zeppelin just to name a few.
After taking a lengthy hiatus, Frijid Pink is back. Playing the same driving Detroit Rock that put them on the charts.
Johnny Spark and the Boys is a union of legendary Detroit Bands of the 80’s, 90’s, & 00’s including, Johnny Spark & the Boys, and Mirror recording artists “the Projections“, Arson Club, Black, Layaway Throwbacks, Twelve Pole Creek, and Two Days Out. These bands have worked with signature Detroit groups including Toby Redd, The Wall Clocks, Model Citizen, the late Johnny Angelos (Reputations & the Torpedo’s) and national acts Detroit, Mitch Ryder, The Kinsey Report and The Romantics.
Past band records have been selling on E-Bay, as “a must have for collectors of high energy power pop/punk sound of the early 80’s” and “influential band of today’s Detroit sound.”
Johnny Spark & the Boys is a “High energy rock and roll band” with individual attitude and personality. The SCORCHIN' New release by this unique, once in a lifetime union of some industry veterans, who are clearly no where near their prime, let alone past it...This album was made the way real records were meant to be made...Organically. On it's own. This trip down the Soulful Funk, Blues, & Rock-n-Roll path, shows exactly why these folks are exactly who they are...and why!!!!!
Two of these members are ' DETROIT ' Band family Members. John Sauter Played in ' DETROIT ', & was on the album featuring Mitch. John has put in a lot of time in Rockin' that Wicked Bass of his. He was working w Ted Nugent w Muruga way back in the 'Stranglehold' Era. John & Muruga wrote that rhythm that drives the song....
Then, There is Steve " Double Down " Dansby, who has played with Detroit as well, in the latest era of the band. as well as several other noted bands. He played with Rusty Day's latter-day version of Cactus, as well as with band's like Frijid Pink, Buddy Miles, Scott Morgan Band& More. To much to tell here & Now!!!
Most of this material was written by Steve as a core, and the album grew on it's own in Muruga's 'Sage Ct. Studios'
Muruga is a DRUMMER. NOT a Rock Drummer, NOT a Blues Drummer, Not A Jazz Drummer, etc etc. He is a Drummer who plays all of those styles & more w such an intense finesse. Muruga did the Production of this project as well. More on Muruga another time though.
Misty Love: Her voice is heard daily on CDs/Radio/Downloads every minute of the day everywhere around the world. If You have heard most of Kid Rock's Noted material, chances are, You have clearly heard and known her voice. Songs like ' Cowboy ' & ' Wastin' Time ', just to name a couple. She brings the bluesy soulfulness of her sound to this album. more on her later too.....

I will have to take the time to tell you the story of how this album came to be...It makes me proud to be instrumental in bring it all together, and seeing what evolved from one night of re-united musical brotherhood at the " A Night For Day - Tribute to Rusty Day Concert I setup in 2011. Since their formation in the 90’s they have toured with and opened for acts including George Clinton’s Parliament Funkadelic, The J. Geils Band, ZZ Topp, Alice Cooper, Albert Collins, Ben Harper, Hank Williams Jr, NRBQ, Incubus and The James Gang as well as headlining their own shows.
Recordings include Beatnik Mambo (Teenage), Live (Top Dog) and Green Bottle (Overture) Car Wash (Alive/Bomp, Divine Trash Highway (Funky D). The Bass Brothers, now teamed with Eminem, produced the track, “Green Bottle”, a local hit back in the late '90s...
Good Rockin Tonight(Sire), an Ahmet Ertegun produced tribute to Sun Records, features the Diablos cut “Wine Spo Dee O Dee” with a guest appearance from Kid Rock. This record also spawned a film for the PBS series, “American Masters”, featuring a performance by the band.
The Diablos appeared on Fat Possum releases by Nathaniel Mayer and RL Burnside that were produced by Tino Gross. In 2006 they released the critically acclaimed Car Wash album on (Alive). In 2009 the Diablos released 'Divine Trash Highway' on Funky D Records....
Watch for them to hit the road in 2012 supporting their new CD 'Ultra Sonic Gas Can'.

Foundation of Funk has been laying it down in this town for as long as I could get down...LOL!!!! I've known Billy for years, and most have no clue what all he does and has done. Steve & Valerie I have also known for a long time, and again, they've been keepin' it goin' for a long time. To me, that is awesome!!!! oh, and have always loved seeing them....they are bringing some new sounds to the table from what i hear...like really about to bring the FUNK!!!!! Razor Ray Reyes:
Well, If You don't know who Razor Ray is, You REALLY should check him out. He is a phenom talent in Detroit area. Hailing from Texas, Ray moved here in his younger years, and quickly began building his reputation as not only a talented guitarist, but also, singer, songwriter, rapper, multi-instrumentalist etc. From his days forging out his niche in Harm's Way, Later harm's Way & The L.S.G.H. Clan/Family, to his time spent playing with and for some of the best noted performers from Detroit. His band Motown Rage has been banging it out in the scene for awhile now. Having released some well received Albums, the band forged out their own unique blend of styles, and kept focused on the dream. I am not sure what lies ahead for the band, I know they are recording new material, which I am eager to hear. So, in the meantime, check him out...The kat RAWKS!!!!! A song writer’s song writer and a performer-extraordinaire. The grit of her sound comes from her blue collar Motown roots, Detroit Rock ‘N Roll, the Memphis’s sounds on Sun Records which lead her to the sounds of the south. With her ear to the speaker and her eyes on the page she listened to the voices that spoke to her and they told her the only life worth writing about is one lived out on the tight rope of your passions.
She followed in the foot steps of her literary and musical heroes hitting the road with nothing but a back pack, a few bucks, and a six string. They are way to cool for that!!! LOL!!!!They are back & better than ever. There is so much that so many do not even recall or even know that these cats did years ago...I will be telling that tale more in the days ahead!!!!!! Rick Stevers has given me the low down...it's amazingly kool!!!!

Johnny Spark & The boys are back. He & His Aquarium Music Studio in Livonia; as well as His record re-release in Italy will be the topix of later discourse, but for now; just know this, it's gonna be cool!!!! Johnny is also a member of the ' DETROIT ' band family, as he performed on the " Dead Man's Hand - Real Deal " release.

The Dregs-Detroit are a three piece Detroit rock band at its core. We pull influence from various genres, indie, punk, surfer, rockabilly, psychedelic and metal. We have culminated this mix into our own brand of sub pop audio fury. Utilizing various outboard effects in a minimalistic approach that not only gives us the ability to fill the void of a bassist but also giving us just the right amount of modern technology edge that blends with our crunchy vintage tones.

The last of the original Mississippi Delta Blues musicians but unfortunately recently departed, David Honeyboy Edwards was a man who not only sang of hard times, he lived them. First hand accounts of sharecropping, jumping freight trains and playing juke joints by Edwards and his generation are soon to be lost, leaving such stories to history books and archival films. Originally intended to preserve this rare view of Americana, the film Honeyboy does that and much more."
Directed by Scott Taradash and Produced by Rob Perkins, this film also features Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones, Joe Perry of Aerosmith, BB King, Robert Cray and Lucinda Williams.
On a whole other note; Local rock Scene Mover & Shaker, John Anton, Owner of Token Lounge in Westland, has made a very cool movie. Filmed in and around Detroit with a local cast that just adds to the coolness of this film. A high-octane, action thriller.
